Celebration Arts presents "Having Our Say, The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years," a drama by Emily Mann. Directed by Dr. Melinda Wilson, "Having Our Say" will open on March 27, and show Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through May 3, 2009. There will be no performance on March 29 and April 12. Celebration Arts Theatre is located at 4469 D Street, Sacramento.
The 103-year-old Sadie Delany and 101-year-old Bessie Delany take us on a journey through the last hundred years of our nation’s history, recounting a fascinating series of events and anecdotes drawn from their family history and careers as pioneering African-American professionals. Their stories look not only into the past, but also ahead into the next century.
